Canon EF 100mm F2.8 Macro Review

Hello photographers,

I bought few months ago the Canon EF 100mm F2.8 Macro to experiment macro photography.
You can find some of my shots on the Macro Photography – Butterflies Go Free! article.
This lens is really nice with an ‘affordable’ price. I bought it used in a camera store, to have at least, 3 months warranty.
You can buy it brand new in store or online, like Amazon for example.

With the F2.8 aperture, it’s also nice to use it for portrait photography from short distance, with the 100mm specs.

This Macro lens is easy to use and allows you to shoot photographs close enough to the subject, without bothering it if it’s an insect or else.

I have selected some videos from Youtube to show you interesting tests and reviews that made me go for buying this Canon lens.

I hope that you will find them useful too.

‘Utilizing USM (Ultrasonic Motor), the Canon 100 Macro internally focuses very fast, quietly and very accurately.’
‘As it is a true 1:1 macro lens, the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro Lens will deliver a subject to your sensor at the same size it is in real life. 1x magnification is achieved at the MFD (Minimum Focus Distance) of 1′ (.3m).’
